In this day and age, we get so wrapped up in our lives. So wrapped up, in fact, that we often don't realize just how lucky we are. We are in a great country, where we are free to worship our God. Many people aren't so lucky. But when things go wrong, we tend to start grieving ourselves. We say, " If I had this, my life would be perfect." But we almost always don't realize that we have the best thing anyone could ask for.
We have a God who loves us unconditionally, so much that he sent his only son to pay for our sins. Lent is a time to "unwrap" from our lives, realize just how fortunate we really are, help those who aren't as fortunate as us, and connect with God. So go unwrap, and delight, not in material things, but in the love of our God. Stop saying, "What if" and start sharing God's gift with the world.
